For You presents a special matinee showcase combining excerpts of The Fall Show with new stories and stage images inspired by their recent connections with East Bay elders. Working with the themes of The Fall Show, For You spent the past few months connecting with elders living near and around Shotgun Theatre—learning about their experiences of falling (in love, into new phases of life, out of touch with old friends). They’ll present creative responses to those elders, and their stories, alongside excerpts of The Fall Show. This collaboration with Shotgun Theatre is the latest engagement in the Artists & Elders series. 

Eastbay Elder Participants:

"Dangerous Dave" Winet started his journey into comedy when he used to tell jokes to his ESL students. Now he is a retired teacher and an aspiring local comedian who has performed at numerous open mics and other venues in the Bay Area and who currently teaches Stand-Up for fun at the South Berkeley Senior Center.

Newt McDonald left Alabama at age 17 and has lived in Cali for 60+ years. A father and retired educator, NMcD loves the Bay!

Stan Schiffman: El Cerrito, NYC, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, back home. Social worker, health care executive, meditator. Wife, companion of 70 years. All this led me to be here today.

FALLING WORKSHOPS

Falling Workshop with LBFE & Openhouse SF 

On August 29th, 2026, For You produced a How-to-Fall workshop for members of LBFE and Openhouse SF as part of the Creativity Connects Summer Fete. In the first part of the workshop, participants learned how to fall; in the second, they shared both literal and imaginative stories about falling.
