Ryan's self-portrait.

The Erika Chong Shuch Performance Project is a group of artists and galvanizers who have been creating original performance work under the artistic direction of Chong Shuch since 2002. The company’s topic-driven ruminations coalesce into imagistic assemblages of music, movement, text, and scenic design. In residence  at Intersection for the Arts (2004-2012) and Berkeley Rep’s Groundfloor (2012 and 2017),  the company has been commissioned by YBCA (After All, For You,) and by Dancers’ Group to create Love Everywhere, a series of site-specific events at multiple venues including SF City Hall and Glide Memorial Church inspired by the struggle for marriage equality. Commissioned by Gerbode Foundation, the company created 51802, a work grappling with the ways incarceration imprisons the lives of loved ones “on the outside.”  Other full-length works include Sitting in a Circle, ORBIT (notes from the edge of forever), All You Need, one window, vis-a-vis, Choose Something Like a Star, and Sunday Will Come (a collaboration with Sean San Jose and Campo Santo).
